Summary
The September 1957 Beaver Beacon reported that Conservation Department workers were trapping and banding partridge on Beaver Island. The workers said the island had nearly twice as many birds per acre as any other Michigan area they had found. They also trapped a coyote for tagging, but it was dead when ready for release.
Evidence and limits
This is a newspaper wildlife-management report. It does not provide survey methods, counts, banding records, a cause of the coyote’s death, or the agency’s underlying report.
