Summary
Beaver Island experienced an unusually severe winter in 2014. A National Weather Service Cooperative Observer post reported more than 100 inches by late January, 136.7 inches by March 22, and 141 inches on March 27 after the prior 138-inch winter record was surpassed. On January 24, a Charlevoix County deputy advised residents to stay off roads while high wind and snow prevented the Road Commission from plowing safely; local community services also closed temporarily.
Evidence limits
