Summary

In mid-November 2002, Ken Bruland taught survival skills to Beaver Island’s ninth- and tenth-grade students. Seventeen students practiced walking by compass and completed field lessons that required navigating from the Christian Brothers to a point on Font Lake, including a more advanced swamp-circumvention exercise for the older group.
