Summary
The June 1969 Beaver Beacon reported smallmouth bass around Garden and Hog Islands and large perch in the same areas. Lake trout were appearing in commercial nets but had not yet been reported by Island anglers.

This is a newspaper fishing observation, not a catch register or fisheries survey. The issue’s separate pheasant sighting is preserved in its own record.
