Summary
TDS described a planned island-wide DSL expansion requiring upgrades to all remaining DSAs, the Island microwave system, and additional mainland backhaul. In a direct forum update, TDS’s market manager said equipment had been installed in all DSAs by June 23, but scalable microwave equipment was still awaited and the expected schedule had moved toward September. By November, TDS said the equipment was installed in all DSAs but the microwave and backhaul work still prevented turn-up; by December 15 it reported that the new microwave was being installed and that a March 2010 launch remained the target. In February 2010, TDS said the work was nearing completion and again projected March availability, but no archived post here confirms the launch itself.
Evidence limits
The provider statements are stronger than anonymous commentary for the build status, but they remain progress reports rather than evidence of completed activation, universal coverage, speed, or subscriber availability. The record does not collapse the summer, September, or March targets into a claimed launch; forum claims about financing are not treated as established facts.
