Summary

The December 1997 Beaver Beacon asked island residents to donate new, unwrapped toys at the Community School through Connie Boyle by December 12. Charlevoix Social Services would distribute the toys anonymously to qualifying children, including children on and off Beaver Island.

The January 1998 follow-up says the drive collected nearly 60 toys. Connie Boyle thanked donors and Island Airways, which transported the toys to Charlevoix; Social Services reportedly said the donation was especially needed because its supply was very low.
