Summary
Thirteen scouts and three leaders of Troop 200 held Beaver Island’s first Scout Camp from June 22–28, 1997. The program combined merit-badge instruction, bird study, golf, swimming and waterfront activities, firearms safety, pioneering, carving, astronomy, meals, and service work, with substantial support from island residents, the CMU Biological Station, donors, and the Community School.
