Summary

The October 1996 Beacon described Bob Mogford’s six-week fall crusher visit as underway, with nearly 300 vehicles already removed from one collection and additional collections still planned. It also previewed a later junk-car service for vehicles, appliances, and scrap metal. A December follow-up reported that the project ultimately crushed more than 1,000 vehicles and shipped at least 700 of them, with remaining vehicles and scrap metal to be handled in spring.
