Summary

Bud Martin brought the 64-foot West Shore to Beaver Island after purchasing the 1947 vessel from Miller Boat Line. The May 1998 Beacon describes the voyage from Port Clinton through the Detroit River, Lake St. Clair, and Lake Huron, ending with a Beaver Island arrival after 28 hours underway, and says Martin intended to use the boat for freight from Manistique.
