Summary
In November 2009, a prospective visitor asked the Beaver Island Forum about wheelchair access to transportation, beaches, lodging, restaurants, and public facilities. Community members, the Chamber of Commerce, the Community Center, and local businesses replied with information about accessible buildings, restrooms, the Emerald Isle ferry lift, a transit-bus lift, and approaches to the public beach. A later reply added the museums.
Evidence limits
This preserves the island’s visitor-facing accessibility claims and the way local people answered a practical question. It is not a current accessibility audit, legal determination, or guarantee of access at every facility.
