Summary
After the Wildlife Club raised concerns about the sharply reduced 2002 whitetail harvest, DNR Wildlife Division chief Rebecca Humphries identified deer counting, carrying capacity, habitat management, and harvest assessment as key questions. Biologist Brian Mastenbrook was expected to visit in May 2003 to inspect browse levels and advise on habitat, deer counts, coyotes, and turkey sites.
Evidence limits
This is a planned assessment and agency correspondence, not a completed biological study or management decision.
