Summary

The May 1997 Beaver Beacon publishes a three-way clarification of a March Lakeland Boating “Talking Trash” article. St. James Township and Harbormaster Glenallen Felixson say the municipal Yacht Dock accepted boaters’ trash and that Beaver Island had no garbage crisis; author Dave Wallace replies that his column addressed inadequate trash storage on long-range cruising boats and was not alleging a bad island experience.

Evidence limits

This is a newspaper correspondence record, not an independent marina audit, transfer-station tonnage report, or legal finding about waste service.
