Summary

The January 1976 Beaver Beacon announced that Father Herbert Graf was expected to leave Holy Cross on February 11 for a Nebraska parish and that Father Sebastian Cunningham was expected to become parish priest. It also invited the community to a February 5 Mass and potluck honoring Graf.

Evidence and limits

This is a parish-transition announcement and appreciation article, not proof of the February departure, Cunningham’s appointment, or the later fate of the planned honor event. The article’s praise of Graf’s work is retained as a contemporary community assessment rather than an independent performance audit.

  1. Announces that Father Herbert Graf was expected to leave February 11 for a new parish in Nebraska, identifies Father Sebastian Cunningham of Hobbs, New Mexico, as the planned new parish priest, and invites readers to a February 5 Mass and potluck honoring Graf. A companion article praises Graf’s spiritual, social, grounds, cemetery, dinner, cruise, and Homecoming work. The notice does not establish that either transition occurred.
