Summary

The 2008 Jazz and More kids music camp was a Beaver Island Cultural Arts Association youth program held 28 July–1 August to coincide with Baroque on Beaver. The April announcement and July notice describe a five-morning experience in vocal, wind, string, and percussion music; the August report names the instructors and documents a $3,550 grant supporting the camp.1

Program

The announcement names Lynne Tobin, Miranda Rooy, and Robin Lee Berry as staff, and says four professional musicians from the Baroque orchestra would visit. The August report adds Concordia University’s Jim Krutz as guest percussion instructor and Paul Gordon’s visit. It was open without charge to Beaver Island Community School students in grades three through twelve and visiting youth; the stated venue was Beaver Island Christian Church. The August report does not provide a full student roster or attendance record.1
