Summary
Dorothy M. (Paige) Wogan, second wife of Theodore “Ted” Wogan, a brother of Walter A. Wojan, died June 2, 1976, at age 55. The Beaver Beacon obituary heading spells her surname Wojan while its body spells it Wogan; both forms are retained here.
Evidence and limits
Theodore Wojan married first Mary Margaret LaFreniere at St. James in 1947; she died in 1966 at age 38. Theodore married Dorothy in 1970 at Charlevoix. Dorothy died June 2, 1976, at Little Traverse Hospital after a single day as a patient; funeral services were held at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix and burial was at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Her obituary names her survivors as her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Louie (Susan) Majors of Phoenix; two stepsons, Richard J. and Robert J. Wogan of Charlevoix; five grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold and Alvord Paige, both of Flint, which is the only held source for her maiden name. A 2006 Beacon retrospective, thirty years later, states plainly that “Dorothy Wojan was married to Ted, the brother of Walter Wojan,” which is the only source connecting this family to the Wojan/Wogan family documented at Walter A. Wojan.
