Summary

The May 1956 Beaver Beacon reports that nearly 200 people attended or testified at the April 24 Coast Guard Survey Board visit concerning the Beaver Island Life Boat Station and Beaver Head Light. Admiral Perkins and five officers presided, and state, local, civic, aviation, and boating interests presented requests.

Evidence and limits

The April issue announced the hearing; the May issue reports the gathering and testimony. The newspaper expected no decision for at least 60 days and supplies no transcript, complete attendance roll, recommendation, or final policy result.
