Summary

On August 10, 1976, the Joseph S. Young unloaded a reported 8,500 tons of crushed limestone at the Beaver Island Ferry Dock. The Beaver Beacon said the material came from Port Inland for the new Township Airport runway, with the remainder intended for island road improvements.
