Summary
Early in June 1969, Bob Summerville of Charlevoix reportedly saw a ring-necked pheasant strutting on the beach near his cottage at Cable Bay. The Beaver Beacon connected the sighting to earlier pheasant planting on the island.

This is a single newspaper-reported observation. It does not establish the bird’s exact location, sex, age, source population, a surviving pair, or a continuing pheasant population on Beaver Island.
