Summary

The June 2011 Beacon publishes a Beaver Island Association letter reopening discussion of consolidating Peaine and St. James Townships. The July issue publishes Henry Hill’s response, which argues that administrative savings are uncertain and that consolidation could weaken accountability and obscure the different interests of the two townships.

Evidence limits

These are advocacy and explanatory letters, not a filed petition, election, vote, or completed governmental change.
