Summary
In February 2011, St. James and Peaine Townships withdrew the governmental commission status of the Natural Resources and Ecotourism Commission (NREC). The March Beacon describes a unanimous St. James vote and a 3–1 Peaine vote, following public disagreement over the commission’s communications and scope.
