Evidence limits
The held forum sources strongly establish the trail announcement, the advertised dedication, and the reported route description. They do not by themselves establish the complete current route, every access site, ownership or maintenance responsibility, or attendance at the dedication. The AP and Michigan Water Trails records should be held separately for stronger route and completion claims.
The 2019 signage thread adds an operational problem but does not resolve its cause. The initial organizer report describes vandalism or removal; a later participant gives a competing physical explanation involving washout, waves, ice, and rising water. This should remain a disputed maintenance observation unless an inspection or official trail record settles it.
