Summary
David Chase (July 13, 1869–April 17, 1908) was the engineer killed when a Beaver Island logging locomotive overturned on Good Friday, April 17, 1908. The date corrects the later Beaver Beacon museum report, which called the wreck Good Friday, 1907.1
Evidence and limits
The University of Michigan item identifies him as the engineer and supplies the exact accident date; an on-site memorial inscription supplies matching birth and death dates. Neither source establishes his residence, parents, spouse, burial place, or a family relationship to George Chase, so no such relationships are asserted.
