Summary
Volume 5 of The Journal of Beaver Island History was a 224-page paperback published by the Beaver Island Historical Society. A January 2003 Beaver Beacon review says it appeared the previous August and describes its emphasis on island dangers, weather, shipwrecks, mail crossings over the ice, local life, loons, oral history, and the continuing influence of a Celtic spirit.
