The December 2011 Beaver Beacon announces the December 18, 2011, Beaver Island performance of Irish Christmas in America, a production of Irish music, song, dance, and stories. The Community Center was the planned venue, with the mainland dock named as a weather contingency. On December 18, the Community Center cancelled the performance because hazardous weather threatened the performers’’ travel from the island; it offered refunds and said turnout before cancellation had been incredible.
