Summary

On June 25, 2003, Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association president Dick Moehl met with St. James Township, the Historical Society, and the public about a partnership to restore Whiskey Point and create a public historic maritime site. The proposal included restoring the Keeper’s House, maintaining the site as an authentic tourist attraction, and exploring the Whiskey Point Boathouse as a base for Central Michigan University’s proposed Great Lakes Research Station.
